Mary Alice Jenkins and Pedro Samuel Flores were united in marriage at the Sundy House in Delray Beach, Fla., on Friday, March 16, 2012. The Reverend Mark Lesher, minister of University Baptist Church in Coral Gables, and The Reverend Jose Flores, father of the groom, officiated at the service.
The bride is the daughter of Wayne Jenkins and Millie Turrentine-Jenkins of St. Augustine, formerly of Elizabethton. She is the granddaughter of the late K.P. and Edna Earle Jenkins, and the late Raymond Turrentine and Marian Clark McGuire.
The groom is the son of Jose Flores of Peru and the late Luisa Victoria Flores Lopez.
Mrs. Flores is a graduate of the University of Florida. She is a catering sales manager at Shula’s Hotel and Golf Club in Miami Lakes. Mr. Flores is a financial advisor in his family’s credit services business. He also recently received his real estate license.
Attending the wedding from Elizabethton were the bride’s paternal great-aunt, Iris Ellis, and cousin, Barbara Melton. Members of the groom’s family from Peru and Canada also attended.
Millie Turrentine-Jenkins hosted a cookout for family and out-of-town guests on the evening prior to the wedding. The bride’s aunts, Jamie Butterworth, Susan Smith and Gina Jenkins, hosted a bridesmaids’ brunch on the day of the wedding.
A honeymoon to Paris and Prague is planned for later this summer.
The couple resides in Coral Gables, Fla.
