Marcia Michelle Mayse and Michael Blake Bowers were united in marriage during a double-ring ceremony at Dungan Chapel Baptist Church, Stoney Creek, on Thursday, July 26, 2012, at 6 p.m. Rev. Scott Greene performed the ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Carolyn Martinez, Roan Mountain. She is a 2001 graduate of Cloudland High School.
The groom is the son of Leslie Bowers, Johnson City, and Larry Bowers, Stoney Creek. He is the grandson of Jeanette Campbell and the late Glen Campbell, Barbara Hamm and the late Bill Hamm, and Beryl Bowers. He is a 2009 graduate of Unaka High School and is employed with Ingles in Elizabethton.
The bride wore a white strapless floor-length gown with gold trim and sequins around the top of the gown. She carried a bouquet of gold flowers accented with white daisies and gold ribbon, made by Debbie Crosby-Duty.
She was given in marriage by her brother, Jose Mayse.
Brandi Bowers, sister of the groom, served as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Ally Nidiffer and Hope Baker. All the attendants wore black dresses and carried small matching bouquets. Gabby Mayse was the flower girl.
Franky Covarrubias served the groom as best man. Groomsmen were Jeff Peters and John Collins. Ushers were Kenny Lowe and Justin Bailey. Serving as guest book attendants were Kayla Rasnick and Tiffany Shelton.
A reception was held in the fellowship hall following the ceremony.
The couple are residing at 268 Bulldog Hollow Road, Stoney Creek.
