Alison Joyce McKinney and Matthew Lynn Peters were united in marriage during a double-ring ceremony at the bride’s family farm on Saturday, June 22, 2013, at 6 p.m. Todd Wolfe, minister, officiated the exchange of vows.
The bride is the daughter of David E. and Tonya McKinney, 229 Sinking Creek Road, Johnson City. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Tony McKeehan, Johnson City, and Mrs. Katalin McKinney, Elizabethton, and the late Ethan McKinney. She is the great-granddaughter of Mrs. Aleta Hendrix, Johnson City.
The groom is the son of Jeffrey and Kitty Peters, 882 Orchard Road, Shady Valley. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Junior Gentry, Shady Valley, Jerry Peters, Elizabethton, and the late Wilma Hoffman.
Music was provided by Stephanie McKeehan, organist and vocalist, Delanie Winningham and Colby McKeehan, vocalists.
Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore an ivory strapless A-line gown accented with beaded lace.
Laura Baird, sister of the groom, served the bride as matron of honor.
Bridesmaids were Kristy Ramey, Amanda Hightower Tester, Carlie McKeehan, Brenna McKinney Smith and Camille McKeehan.
Mallory McKinney, cousin of the bride, was the flower girl.
Carter McKinney, cousin of the bride, was ring bearer.
Jeffrey Peters, father of the groom, served as best man.
Following the ceremony a reception was held at the Central Community Christian Church Pavilion.
After a honeymoon cruise to Key West and Cozumel, the couple are residing in Johnson City.
