Mary Iona Salyer and Bradley Christopher Asher were united in marriage on Monday, Nov. 5, 2012, at 6:30 p.m. during an outdoor ceremony at their new home on Beryl Blevins Road in Elizabethton. The Rev. Richard Estep, uncle of the bride, officiated the exchange of vows and rings.
The bride is the daughter of Roy and Joyce Salyer. She is the granddaughter of John Bell and Mary Lewis and the late Rev. Homer and Iona Salyer.
The groom is the son of Sonja and Jim Such and Phillip and Glennie Asher. He is the grandson of Bernice Asher and the late Billy Joe Asher, and Irene Lawson.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a short champagne dress featuring a chiffon tiered skirt and a ruched empire sash, with a beaded lace bodice and matching bolero jacket.
Her jewelry included a ring belonging to her great-grandmother and pearl earrings.
She carried a bouquet of miniature white roses.
The bride was attended by her daughter, Alisha Harrell, who was attired in a champagne sweater dress with brown leggings. She carried a nosegay of white and pink miniature roses.
The groom was attended by Nolan Bradley, son of the bride.
A reception featuring cake by Keller Asher, sister-in-law of the groom, was hosted by the groom’s family.
Prior to their marriage, the couple was honored with a housekeeping shower and reception hosted by the Dungan Chapel Baptist Church WMU and the bride’s aunts.
