Julia Katherine Seward and Gideon Patrick O’Daniel were united in marriage during a Biblical double-ring with candlelight ceremony at Grace Bible Church, Moore, S.C., on Saturday, March 3, 2012, at 1 p.m. with Pastor Andrew Franseen officiating. Scripture readers were Jonathan Knowles and Lindsay Phillips.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Evans Seward Jr., Elizabethton. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert E. Farris, Greenville, S.C., and Mrs. Til Seward, Johnson City, and the late John Seward.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. William Patrick O’Daniel, Apex, N.C.
A program of wedding music was provided by Mary Stark, pianist; Miriam Hurst, flautist; Heather Olson, violinist; and Tim Morgan, vocalist.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a strapless white peau do soie satin gown with a sweetheart bodice and side-draped waistline.
She carried a bouquet of white roses with baby’s breath and greenery tied with a fuchsia bow and ribbon.
Maids of honor were Mary Seward, sister of the bride, and Kristen Klem, friend of the bride. Bridesmaids were Elizabeth Seward Collins, sister of the bride; Wendi Walker Seward, sister-in-law of the bride; Libby O’Daniel, sister of the groom; and Anna Butler, friend of the bride. Each attendant was attired in a purple cotton sateen dress with ruching and a fitted waist.
Flower girls were Reagan Phillips and Cara Grace Phillips.
Ring bearers were John Seward IV, nephew of the bride, and Ashton O’Daniel, nephew of the groom.
Best men were John Marshall and Kyle Hammer.
Groomsmen were Micah O’Daniel, brother of the groom; John Evans Seward III, brother of the bride; Brady Hill and Christopher Nye.
Jess Maxwell was the program attendant.
A reception was held at River Falls Plantation, Duncan, S.C.
Following a Caribbean honeymoon cruise, the couple are residing in Wilmington, N.C.
