Weekend fire destroys Hampton residence

Fire destroyed a home at 123 Whittemore Road, Hampton, on Friday night, according to the Carter County Sheriff’s Department.
Nothing could be saved early Saturday morning after a Friday night fire ravaged a Hampton residence.
Deputy Brady Higgins of the Carter County Sheriff’s Department said the fire at 123 Whittemore Road in the Simerly Creek community started late Friday night. The officer was called to the property early Saturday morning on the report of a structure fire.
