Weekend Reunions

Members of the Elizabethton High School Class of 1992 will hold their 20-year reunion on Friday-Saturday, Aug. 31-Sept. 1.

On Friday, Aug. 31, classmates and their family members are inivted to attend a home EHS football game. There will be a reserved section for all classmates and families. On Saturday, Sept. 1, a dinner will be held at 6:30 p.m. in the ballroom of the Hands-On Regional Museum in Johnson City. The band Spank will perform at this event. Cost is $20.

The Elizabethton High School Class of 1957 will hold Reunion 55 and a Scholarship fund-raising event on Aug. 31-Sept.1.

Headquarters for the Reunion will be at the Ramada Limited, 2606 N. Roan St., Johnson City.

The Hospitality Room will open at 11 a.m. on Friday and all classmates and their invited guests will be welcome to drop in and visit anytime after that time. Lunch will be on your own, but there will be a pizza snack/light dinner about 6 p.m. No reservations are required for this meal. This will be followed by informal social time.

The Hospitality Room will open on Saturday morning and remain open until 5 p.m. for more informal visiting.

On Saturday, Sept. 1, classmates will meet at the Peerless Restaurant at 5:30 p.m. for the class picture, followed by informal social time at 6 p.m. with dinner/program commencing at 6:30 p.m. Reservations are required for the dinner. After the program, the Hospitality Room at the hotel will be opened again for dessert and social time.

The 37th Simerly/Jenkins Family Reunion will be held on Saturday, Sept. 1, at the Valley Forge Freewill Baptist Church picnic grounds. Reunion time is from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. with lunch beginning at noon sharp. Please bring two covered dishes. All other supplies will be furnished.

A short memorial service will be held at the Jenkins Cemetery at 2:30 p.m. Those attending are asked to bring family pictures to share.

The Hampton High School Class of 1955 will hold its 57-year reunion at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 1, at Shirley’s Restaurant at Watauga Lake in Hampton.
