West Side Elementary students recognized as All-Star Readers
West Side Elementary School students recently completed unique book report projects to display for parents, grandparents and visitors. Each student in Kindergarten and first grade drew a picture depicting a favorite character or title in Frank Faniola’s art class and grades second through fifth prepared for an All-Star Book Award Trophy as a family project at home.

Second-grade students Mason Williams, Merci Langston and Landon Ramsey in Ginger Deloach’s class; Emma Johnson and Dawson May in Jancey Bennett’s class and Adam Hughes and Olivia Markley in Kim Pless’ class.
Parents and grandparents have been visiting the school for lunch and book fair shopping throughout the week to enjoy the hallway displays. They also enjoyed an evening spaghetti dinner with a visit from the Elizabethton Twins Mascot.
School Librarian Pam Norris directed the project and said she is delighted with the results.
