Advances in technology continue to change the face of communities across the country. Such changes are hitting home for the Bonnie Kate Theatre in downtown Elizabethton and the Stateline Drive-In on Highway 19E.

Andy Whetzel rewinds a movie recently shown at the Stateline Drive-In. The theater, like thousands of others across the country, is facing the decision about whether to upgrade to digital equipment or not.
The struggle to keep up with the newest movie technology may lead to changes in the way the Bonnie Kate, a popular landmark, and the Stateline, one of only 15 operating drive-in movie theaters in Tennessee, do business in the future.
