Woman facing attempted murder charge arrested in separate incident

A woman already facing an attempted second-degree murder charge in the stabbing of her estranged husband has now been accused of assaulting an individual with a shovel.

Danita Whitehead- Church, 50, was arrested Thursday evening by the Carter County Sheriff’s Department on a charge of aggravated assault. Deputy Ricky Kinner said the alleged assault occurred at 206 Greenbriar Drive, Hampton.
