Woman who called 911 arrested on DUI charge

A Kingsport woman who found herself lost in Elizabethton called 911 dispatch Tuesday for directions. What she got was a DUI charge and a trip to jail.

Elizabethton Police Department officers began their search after Carter County 911 personnel received a call from Washington County 911 that a female had called and sounded very intoxicated. The woman allegedly told dispatchers she was taking her husband to the hospital in Elizabethton from Johnson City.

It took officers only a few minutes to locate the car being driven by Rachael Hubmann-Deel, 34, 150 New Moore Road, Kingsport.

EPD Officer Lincoln Orellana said Carter County 911 advised officers at 2:50 p.m. to be on the lookout for a silver Chrysler Sebring being driven recklessly while traveling eastbound on West Elk Avenue. A few minutes later, 911 dispatchers advised the vehicle had turned around and headed westbound on West Elk Avenue.
