Work begins on $16M TTC expansion project

The existing Administration Building, above left, will be renovated to house Practical Nursing,
Certified Nurse Aide and an Industry Training lab and classroom. The new Administration Building,
pictured at right, will house Administrative Offices, Business Systems Technology, Computer
Information Technology and Electricity/Electronics. The building at the top right will house Diesel
Powered Equipment and Automotive Technology. The building at the top left will house Welding,
Pipefitting and Plumbing, Millwright Skills and HVAC/Refrigeration.

Construction on the $16 million campus consolidation project at the Tennessee Technology Center at Elizabethton was scheduled to begin Monday, according to Robert Reedy of Reedy & Sykes Architecture and Design of Elizabethton.

Construction of three new buildings and renovation of a fourth building is expected to be completed within 511 days or by Jan. 12, 2014.
