Lady Buffaloes guard Hayley Wyrick showed everyone inside Steve Lacy Fieldhouse that she knows how to score and score a lot.
The freshman tallied a career-high 26 points as Milligan College trumped Alabama’s Selma University 91-69 in the Milligan Classic finale Saturday afternoon.
“We came out there with a lot of intensity,” Wyrick said. “We were able to push the ball and set our pace, and I think that really worked to our advantage.”
After swapping leads back-and-forth early on, the Lady Buffaloes took control when sophomore Allison Jones scored six unanswered points. That, along with some credit going to Wyrick, eventually led to a 38-26 Milligan-lead going into the half.
