Elizabethton and Happy Valley football fans each got to witness a remarkable performance last Friday. Ironically they happened about 20 miles apart from one another.
’Betsy’s Ethan Thomas was a knight in shinning armor inside the Stone Castle at Bristol while Phillip Garland was a prize thoroughbred just up the road in Abingdon, Va.
The pair combined to rush for 642 yards on 45 carries, seven touchdowns and a two-point conversion. That’s averaging 14 yards per carry and 44 points total.
